  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1 large large eggs
  • 1/3 cup (70g) granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (70g) brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp (40g) melted butter
  • 3 tbsp (40g) vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup (60g) sour cream
  • 7 oz (200g) banana puree (about 2 ripe bananas) Cream Cheese Filling
  • 7 oz (200g) cream cheese, softened Cream Cheese Filling
  • 1 large egg Cream Cheese Filling
  • 2 tbsp (30g) sugar Cream Cheese Filling
  • 1 tbsp (10g) all-purpose flour Cream Cheese Filling
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) vanilla extract Cream Cheese Filling

Method

  1. Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 340°F (170°C).
Lightly grease an 8½ × 4½-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Mash the Bananas

Place the ripe bananas in a bowl and mash them with a fork until mostly smooth.
  3. Mix the Dry Ingredients

    In a medium bowl combine:
    Flour
    Baking powder
    Baking soda
    Cinnamon
    Salt
    Whisk together until evenly mixed.
  4. Make the Banana Batter

In a large bowl whisk together:
    Egg
    Granulated sugar
    Brown sugar
    Melted butter
    Vegetable oil
    Mix until smooth.
    Add:
    Sour cream
    Vanilla extract
    Whisk until fully combined.
    Fold in the mashed bananas.
Finally, gently stir in the dry ingredients just until no flour streaks remain. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling

    In another bowl whisk together:
    Cream cheese
    Egg
    Sugar
    Flour
    Vanilla extract
    Mix until smooth and creamy.
  6. Assemble the Loaf

Pour about two-thirds of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter.
Top with the remaining banana batter.
Run a butter knife through the batter a few times to create beautiful cheesecake swirls.
  7. Bake

    Bake for 50–60 minutes.
    The bread is done when:
    The top is golden brown.
A toothpick inserted into the banana bread portion comes out clean.
If the top browns too quickly, loosely tent it with aluminium foil during the final 15–20 minutes.
  8. Cool

Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
Transfer it to a wire rack and let it cool completely before slicing.
This helps the cream cheese layer fully set.
